Other Science Education Programs at Seattle Children’s Research Institute
Seattle Children’s is dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next-generation of scientists, physicians, and healthcare workers. In addition to the Science Adventure Lab, the Science Education Department has developed a number of other programs to provide unique opportunities for students to explore future careers in biomedical research.
During the summer, high school students will learn how to work in a research laboratory environment and learn about topics including biochemistry, immunotherapy, gene editing and infectious diseases. Students will also participate in workshops on college readiness and career exploration.

In this year-long academic program, high school students will learn about biomedical science and healthcare careers in a professional laboratory setting at the Puget Sound Skills Center (PSSC) in the Highline School District.

The Science Discovery Lab is a next-generation science classroom, where students in grades 9–12 can do innovative curriculum in a state-of-the-art laboratory embedded in the research institute. Field trips include a laboratory activity in the Science Discovery Lab and a tour including the Therapeutic Cell Production Core where immunotherapy products are made.
